Lloyd’s Register: Building a Safer Future
Lloyd’s Register is a technical and business services organisation and a maritime classification society dating back to 1760. Its stated aims are to enhance the safety of life, property, and the environment, by helping its clients ensure the quality construction and operation of critical infrastructure.
Historically, as Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, it was a maritime organisation but during the late 20th century, it diversified into other industries including oil and gas, process industries, nuclear, and rail.
In 2015 Lloyd’s Register selected SAP to deliver an integrated, international, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business management solution.
