We had a number of legacy systems we wanted to replace and we chose Business ByDesign because we wanted a cloud ERP solution that was flexible enough to meet the different elements of our business. It helps us stay in control and current with the latest version of the software. We can perform inter-company transactions without the need for messy integrations.
THE COMPANY
Lloyd’s Register is a technical and business services organisation and a maritime classification society dating back to 1760. Its stated aims are to enhance the safety of life, property, and the environment, by helping its clients ensure the quality construction and operation of critical infrastructure.
THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE
With operations in 78 countries and more than 9,000 employees, Lloyd’s Register was facing increasing complexity in managing its operations and wanted to take advantage of the opportunities being offered by the digital economy.
InCloud Solutions were the SAP partner selected to implement the system with a brief to simplify and enhance the company’s finance, project management, project resourcing and human resources (HR) processes, helping Lloyd’s deliver on its commitment to keep employees at the heart of its business.
THE SOLUTION
In 2015 Lloyd’s Register selected SAP to deliver an integrated, international, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business management solution.
We had a number of legacy systems we needed to replace and we chose Business ByDesign because we wanted a cloud ERP solution that was flexible enough to meet the different elements of our business. It helps us stay in control and current with the latest version of the software. We can perform intercompany transactions without the need for messy integrations.
THE OUTCOME
Lloyds have embarked on a huge roll out programme with 3.5k employees already using ByDesign – they re live in 17 countries with another 17 to come. Their users are really starting to see the benefits of being able to control their projects, including how well they are performing and what they are costing the company. For head of technology Liz Parsons the beauty of the system is having everybody on a single platform.
